YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced production, sales and export figures for December 2020 and calendar year 2020.
1. Production
December
Nissan’s global production in December increased 9.9% from a year earlier.
- Production in Japan declined 6.1%.
- Production outside Japan increased 13.1%.
- Production in Mexico surpassed year-earlier results by 55.1%.
- Production in the U.K. surpassed year-earlier results by 17.7%.
- Production in China surpassed year-earlier results by 11.2%.
Calendar year 2020
Nissan’s global production in 2020 declined 26.8% from a year earlier.
- Production in Japan and outside Japan both declined from a year earlier.
2. Sales
December
Global sales in December declined 7.0% from a year earlier.
- Sales including minivehicles in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 11.9%, the third consecutive monthly increase.
- Minivehicle sales in Japan surpassed year-earlier results by 16.6%, setting a record for the month of December.
- Sales outside Japan declined 8.4% from a year earlier.
- Sales in China surpassed year-earlier results by 0.4%.
Calendar year 2020
Global sales in 2020 declined 22.2% from a year earlier.
- Sales in Japan and outside Japan both declined from a year earlier.
3. Exports from Japan
December
Exports from Japan in December declined 15.2% from a year earlier.
