O desconto, no entanto, é parcial.

The Nissan Ariya NISMO Is A 413-HP Japan-Only EV With A Racing Sound Generator

A few performance EVs have hit the scene in the last few years, as the electrified era brings both innovation and also a desire for power. While they have incredible performance, that often comes at the sacrifice of things like range. That said, automakers need these models as a way to drum up excitement for EVs. Nissan is the latest automaker bringing a performance EV to market in the form of its Ariya crossover.

Called the Nissan Ariya NISMO, it’s based on the top line Ariya e-4ORCE. While that model gets 389 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque from its dual motor setup and 87 kWh lithium-ion battery, the NISMO gets two versions dubbed B6 and B9. The B6 gets a 66 kWh battery back and less power than the standard Ariya e-4ORCE: 362 and 413 lb-ft of torque.

If you want more power, the B9 is the way to go. It gets a 91-kWh battery pack and output of 413 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque; that’s 24 horsepower more than the regular Ariya with the same battery. With this much juice, Nissan says that a combination of special acceleration tuning and exclusive driving modes make for a 10-percent increase in peak motor output.

It’s not all just about going fast in a straight line. Engineers have tuned the chassis and all wheel drive system for better control as Nissan describes.

NISMO’s special tuning for each chassis component combined with e-4ORCE electric-drive four-wheel-control technology and dedicated tires mounted on highly rigid 20-inch aluminum wheels generates superior stability and turn-in ability as well as better line-tracing and enhanced cornering ability at high speeds.

As for design, you’ll be able to tell the Ariya NISMO apart from regular Ariyas. On the outside, there’s design cues that’ll remind of you past NISMO models like the Juke NISMO and current ones like the Z and GT-R NISMOs. The aero treatment around the bottom gets the same black and red design with a faux diffuser and dual-level spoiler out back. Up front there’s a sporty design for the front fascia along with a single gray stripe on the hood.

Inside there’s a special steering wheel with red mark for the 12 o’clock position, NISMO sport seats, red trim and other features only described as “high quality”. And just so you can get the full experience of going fast, NISMO threw in an optional sound generator that under acceleration is described as being “evocative of Formula E racing, further adding to the excitement.”

There’s no word on anything like range or price yet. Ultimately though it won’t matter anyway, it doesn’t appear as if this thing is coming to the U.S. right now. It will go on sale in Japan though in mid-2024.

Nissan Formula E Team signs Caio Collet as reserve and simulator driver

YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Formula E Team is delighted to announce Caio Collet as its reserve and simulator driver for the 2023/24 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The Brazilian racer began his single-seater career in 2017 in the Formula 4 UAE Championship, where he claimed a win and six podiums. The next year, seven victories saw him crowned French Formula 4 champion. Two seasons in Formula Renault Eurocup followed, which included an overall second-place finish in 2020. His performance in the series earned him a place in FIA Formula 3, where he collected three wins and 11 podiums across a trio of seasons in the championship.

Collet is a former member of the prestigious Alpine Academy, and maintains contact with the program to this day. The 21-year-old has already joined up with the team on site, at last week’s season opening Mexico City E-Prix.

Caio Collet leaning on wall

Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: “I’m delighted to welcome Caio to the team for 2024. The role of reserve and simulator driver is an extremely important one in several ways. His feedback from the simulator will have a significant impact on our in-season development, and therefore our performance throughout the year. Caio’s profile as a driver fits this role perfectly. He is a young talent with extensive single-seater experience, and his time with Alpine Academy showed us that he is capable of having a positive impact this season. He has shown promising signs already, quickly absorbing new information about key Formula E systems, including energy management. With the talent he has, I look forward to seeing him develop as he works with the team throughout the year.”

Caio Collet, reserve and simulator driver, Nissan Formula E Team: “I’m very happy to have the opportunity to work with Nissan this season. They are a team with strong credentials in Formula E, as well as being a globally respected brand. When I first jumped into the simulator, I was shocked by how different Formula E felt compared to other series, both in terms of the systems in use and the driving style required to maximize performance. It’s an exciting challenge and I am very grateful to Nissan Formula E Team for this chance. I believe the experience will make me a more complete driver, helping to grow my career. Oliver, Sacha, and the whole team have made me feel welcome and at home already, and I look forward to developing my relationship with them. Like all Formula E drivers, they are extremely competitive and professional, so I can learn a lot from working with them both. Now, my full focus is on performing to the best of my ability, and helping the team maximize results this year.”

In June 2022, Nissan announced it would supply its Nissan EV powertrain technology to McLaren Racing for the entirety of the Formula E Gen3 era.

For Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the Nissan Formula E drivers will be Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz.
