Built by legendary firm Top Secret, this Supra packs a twin-turbo V12 originally from a Toyota Century and boasts a truly bonkers 222 mph top speed. It's about as absurd as a Supra could be. "And infamous" That 222-mph run was performed by Top Secret founder Kazuhiko “Smoky” Nagata at Italy's Nardo test track back in 2008, after it was converted to V12 power, but that's not his best-known turn behind the wheel. In 1999, Smoky took this Supra to the UK and did a claimed 197 mph on the A1...in the rain. He was pulled over and promptly arrested and thrown in jail for the night. That UK top-speed run was back when this Supra was still sporting its original inline-six and standard(ish) bodywork. Smoky and Top Secret turned it into a V12-powered wide-body monster for the 2007 Tokyo Auto Salon, mostly because they were bored with the then-stagnant OEM Japanese performance-car market. Remember that the Nissan GT-R wasn't yet in production, and Toyota had no plans for a Supra successor. Last time it was tested, this twin-turbo V12 generated around 1000hp to the wheels with a little help from a nitrous injection. Also using this dual HKS Fcon's to manage the engine, one for each bank. And all that power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. Smoky Nagata will be taking the Top Secret V12 Supra to the Texas Mile this year. The car was originally set up for top-end speed and will have to be re-tuned for the Texas Mile. The current turbos will be swapped out for smaller ones.
